April 9, 2013 - Join us at the UAA Multicultural Center in Rasmusson Hall room 106 on May 3rd from
4:30 - 7:30pm for a "Celebration and Fundraising LUAU" for the Northern Lights Library! This event will include great entertainment and a variety of Tongan foods! For more information please email northernlightslibrary@gmail.com or CLICK HERE to view a flier for this event.

February 12, 2013 - The books left the Port of Anchorage today and have begun their journey to the Port of Tacoma where they will be loaded onto a trailer and taken to San Diego! From there they will be transported via the US Navy to Tonga!

February 8, 2013 - The books have all been loaded onto pallets and are about to be shipped to San Diego thanks to a generous donation from Bristol Alliance of Companies.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the Northern Lights Library! The dream is coming true!

February 2, 2013 - You can now participate in a fundraising effort for the Northern Lights Library on the website "Stay Classy". All donations will go directly to support essential building materials, labor costs (we hope to use volunteer labor whenever possible) and Kato's airfare to oversee the opening of the Northern Lights Library. To contribute to this fundraising effort CLICK HERE

February 1, 2013 - U.S. Senator, Lisa Murkowski saw a news article about the Northern Lights Library project and connected Kato with a contact with the US Navy who has agreed to ship the books from San Diego to Tonga! Thank You Senator Murkowski and the US Navy!
